Noon In Paris, Eight In Chicago re-imagines the turbulent love affair between French feminist Simone de Beauvoir and American novelist Nelson Algren, following the couple’s unconventional, transatlantic relationship from the 1940s to the 1960s. Mark Blottner, co-director of critically acclaimed documentary Nelson Algren: The End is Nothing, The Road is All, has given the novel a ringing endorsement, saying ‘it captures the tragic love between Algren and de Beauvoir, exposing their tender, vulnerable souls’.
