Join Una , author of Becoming Unbecoming, and her mother Margaret, discussing the comic they created specially for a participatory arts project around mental ill-health, On Sanity: One Day In Two Lives, based on an original zine by Una (2008) and an oral history recording by
Margaret (2016). One of two talks that are part of a project devised by Una and supported by Arts Council England in partnership with East Street Arts and Arts and Minds Leeds.

The new 40 page comic explores their individual perspectives of the day Margaret was admitted to hospital under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act. The authors will be discussing Margaret’s journey towards recovery and her life after illness, her experience of hospital treatment, and Una’s experience of caring for a person with mental ill-health.
