Surrey New Writers Festival is a day of discussion, fiction and fun involving authors, agents, and publishers on hand to give advice to budding writers. This year Myriad author Lizzie Enfield and Fiction Editor Holly Ainley will both feature on panel events during the day.
2.45pm, ‘The (Often Uncertain) Road to a Debut Novel’: Lizzie Enfield, author of the ‘compulsively readable and extraordinarily haunting’ Living With It, will be discussing how she developed and published her debut. Sharing stories of writing experiences and projects completed (or not!) before their first major publication, the panel will also reflect on what they didn’t expect in regard to the process of publishing their work.
4pm, Agents, Editors and Publishing panel: Myriad Fiction Editor Holly Ainley will join other industry professionals for a discussion about how to develop a career in the publishing industry, and what kind of writing and approaches they look for in new authors.
Panel events will be followed by an opportunity to talk to the audience, authors and industry professionals at a wine reception.
