Myriad author Jules Grant will be reading extract from her thrillingly gritty, debut novel We Go Around in the Night and Are Consumed by Fire alongside storyteller Lisa Devaney and comedienne Carmen Ali.

‘That’s What She Said’ is For Books’ Sake’s night of spoken word all written and performed by women. It welcomes a wide range of speakers, from slam poetry to storytelling, contemporary political thought to comedy, bringing women’s voices to the forefront, while at the same time giving a platform to writers and performers they love.

We Go Around in the Night and Are Consumed by Fire is a story of love, honour and vengeance on Manchester’s mean streets. It has been described by Toby Litt as ‘everything you could want a novel to be – beautifully written, funny, agonising, unflinching. It reads like a classic.’
