Novelist Hannah Vincent will be reading from her debut novel, Alarm Girl, at Brighton’s newest festival, Together the People, on 6 September.
Together The People is a new festival in Brighton, celebrating music, food, community, film and arts in the city. In support of Brighton Housing Trust – the festival’s lead charity partner – the weekend will deliver creative, family friendly and socially aware events including big name bands and a unique collaboration with Picturehouse Brighton.
Hannah Vincent, along with other members of the Beach Hut Writers Group, will read from her work on Sunday, on the ‘soapbox stage’ – a platform for creative arts and entertainment including literature, poetry and comedy.
Alarm Girl was published to critical acclaim by Myriad in August 2014. Steeped in the dry heat of a South African summer, the story seamlessly interweaves the voices of eleven-year-old Indigo and her mother, beautifully capturing the human desire to belong: in a family, in a country, in your own skin.
Full weekend tickets and single day tickets are available via the Together the People Festival website.
