Hannah Vincent and Sally O'Reilly at Picnic in the Park, Brighton

Myriad authors Hannah Vincent and Sally O’Reilly will be taking part in this summer’s Picnic in the Park event in Queen’s Park, Brighton on 28 June.

This year, Picnic in the Park will be celebrating local authors and their work with a special Authors tent. Readers will have the chance to speak to authors about their work, buy copies of their novels and have them signed.

Hannah Vincent will be discussing her novel Alarm Girl. Steeped in the dry heat of a South African summer, this keen and touching debut seamlessly interweaves the voices of Indigo and her mother, and beautifully captures the human desire to belong: in a family, in a country, in your own skin.

Joining Hannah Vincent in the Authors tent is bestselling author Sally O’Reilly, who will be discussing Dark Aemilia. In the boldest imagining of the era since Shakespeare in Love and Elizabeth, this spellbinding novel of witchcraft, poetry and passion brings to life Aemilia Lanyer, the ‘Dark Lady’ of Shakespeare’s Sonnets – the playwright’s muse and his one true love.

Presented by The Friends of Queen’s Park, Picnic in the Park will take place 28 June from midday. For more information about the event, please click here.
