Myriad New Voices presents an exciting and eclectic list of debuts by emerging writers and artists published during 2015.
This year Myriad celebrates ten years of publishing original fiction and graphic novels. We have uncovered exciting new voices and launched some of the most outstanding debuts of recent years, from crime and psychological thrillers to literary fiction. Our bestselling authors include Elizabeth Haynes, Lesley Thomson, Darryl Cunningham and Kate Evans. We publish books that are bold, eclectic and full of character, and proudly build on Myriad’s early days as creator of the ground-breaking State of the World atlas series.
In 2012 we founded the First Fictions festival to celebrate and champion new writing, in collaboration with the University of Sussex. Together we also launched the Quick Fictions app to showcase flash fictions of under three hundred words. Read more about Myriad here.
Myriad prize successes: Elizabeth Haynes has been longlisted for the prestigious CWA Dagger in the Library Award, Sally O’Reilly is a finalist for a new Italian literary prize for historical fiction for Dark Aemilia, and Tyler Keevil has been shortlisted for several major short story awards.
In other news, Darryl Cunningham’s graphics exploration of the financial crisis, Supercrash, is still riding high in the New York Times bestseller list, and our spring fiction titles (including The Longest Fight and Ghosting) continue to gather acclaim, in The Times, Independent on Sunday and elsewhere. The festival season is well underway: our authors have been fêted from New York to Venice, and are set for a busy summer ahead with appearances at the ELCAF East London Comics & Arts Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Latitude in Suffolk and the Charroux Literary Festival in France, among others.
